Atascocita High School opened in August, 2006 with grades 9-11 and currently is home to 3200 students. The 425,000 square-foot building (which we've already added on a wing to!) is designed around eight houses or small learning communities. Students will spend most of their school day within their house, where they'll attend core academic classes of English, math, science and social studies. This arrangement allows house principals, counselors and teachers to work together to personalize learning for students.
The Theatre Department at AHS is housed in the Fine Arts wing of AHS. Facilities include the Performing Arts Center (a 780 seat auditorium with complete fly system and state-of-the-art lighting and sound), a Black Box Theatre (multi-use space able to seat 120), a complete Scene Shop, and Theatre Classroom. Directors Rod Sheffield and Justin Vincent look forward to working with the students of our community.
